Ptolemy is a partnership involving the University of Toronto (UofT), the Association of Surgeons of East Africa (ASEA), the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA), and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
Ptolemy Project participants have access to the all of the University of Toronto's electronic health resources.
The University of Toronto Library system is the largest academic library in Canada and is ranked the third largest among research libraries in North America, behind only Harvard and Yale.
The system consists of over 30 libraries including college libraries, special collections and specialized libraries covering areas from architecture to zoology.
In addition to more than 13 million holdings, the library system currently provides close to 14, 000 full-text electronic journals, 450 indexes and abstracts, 200 online newspapers and 6, 000 electronic books. Library resources also include evidence-based medical sites and a variety of search engines.
Most, but not all, e-journals are full-text and include illustration, charts and tables. Some offer only the table of contents or abstracts and summaries. Access to some of these journals may require that you download Abode Acrobat Software .
For Ptolemy participants, when selecting a link from the library web page to a journal index or any other licensed resource, you will be asked to log in. Please use your original username and password, as provided to you when you signed up as a Ptolemy participant. You will only be asked to log in once per browser session, the first time you choose a link to any licensed resource.
