2) This 4 year old boy had a major burn, including the need for tracheostomy. With the focus on survival, his bilateral wrist burns were neglected and he developed severe contractures. Although he was improved by grafting and contracture release, the severity of his contractures could have been lessened by splinting. His volar surface was unburned, so splinting with wrist volar flexion, MP flexion and IP extension would have been appropriate.
